Description
Operation Sail, Inc. shall be commonly known as America's representative to the international tall ship community.

Mission
Operation Sail, Inc. will promote the use of tall ships as centers of learning to ports around America. Operation Sail, Inc. will promote cultural exchange and good will through the medium of sail training and through its international tall ship programs. This learning shall encompass everything from sail training to America's maritime history.

Values
We believe that every person in America should understand the importance of the ship, the ocean, and waterways in our nation's history. We value people who give back to the community through sail training programs, ship building, and educational programs based around the ship.

Origin
Operation Sail, Inc. is a national non-profit corporation founded in 1961 by President Kennedy.

Operation Sail, Inc. and its programs have had the support of every President since President Kennedy.
