Here are directions to all of the piers in New York where the tall ships will be berthed:

DIRECTIONS TO THE SULLIVANS PIER - STATEN ISLAND

 Staten Island Ferry from South Ferry (Manhattan) to St. George Terminal (Staten Island)

Take the train (South) from St. George to Stapleton Station.

From Stapleton Station:

Walk north along Front Street, a few feet past past the Wave Street intersection. On the East side of Front Street, go through the gate and into the Terminal. Once inside the terminal, walk East to the waterfront to the long pier behind the buildings.

 By car via Verrazano-Narrows Bridge

From I-278 (Staten Island Expressway) West bound, exit Bay St./Fr. Capodanno  Blvd./Hylan Blvd). Slight right onto School Road (.2 mi) then turn left onto Bay St. (1.6 mi). Turn right onto Canal St. and cross Front St into the terminal entrance. From inside the Terminal, make the immediate left that parallels Front St. and make the first right toward the waterfront (After the first building but before the big building). Turn left at the waterfront and the The Sullivans Pier will be visible on your right. Parking information will be available on the day of the event.

 Walking to the pier from St. George Ferry Station

Walk west to Richmond Terrance (.2 mi). Turn left (South) on Richmond Terrence (.1mi) which transitions into Bay St. Continue south (.4 mi) to Hannah St. and turn Left (East). Walk two blocks to Front St./Murray Hulbert Avenue (.4 mi) and continue south to the Terminal Entrance on the waterside of the street.

From inside the Terminal walk straight with the large building to your right and walk towards the waterfront. At the waterfront, The Sullivans Pier will be to your right.

 

DIRECTIONS TO BROOKLYN PORT AUTHORITY TERMINAL

Piers 7 and 8

Via NYC Subway:

Take the A or C train to Hoyt-Schermerhorn:

From the corner of Hoyt St. and State St. walk south on Hoyt St. to Atlantic Avenue and then walk west on Atlantic Avenue (approximately 7-8 blocks) to Columbia St. or take the B63 bus.

Take the F or G train to Bergen Street

From the corner of Wyckoff St. and Smith St., walk north to Atlantic Avenue (approximately 4-5 blocks) and then walk west on Atlantic Avenue (approximately 6-7 blocks) to Columbia St. or take the B63 bus.

Take the R train to Court Street

From the corner of Montague St. and Clinton St., walk south on Clinton St., (approximately 6-7 blocks) to Atlantic Avenue and then walk west on Atlantic Avenue (Approximately 3-4 blocks) to Columbia St.

Take the 4, 5, 2, or 3 train to Borough Hall

From the corner of Joralemon St. and Court St., walk south (Approximately 4-5 blocks) to Atlantic Avenue and then walk west on Atlantic Avenue (Approximately 4-5 blocks) to Columbia St. or take the B63 bus.

Take the A, C, or F train to Jay Street

From the corner of Jay St. and Willoughby St., walk west on Willoughby St. (1 block) to Pearl St. then walk south (1 block) to Fulton Mall. Walk west to Boerum Place (1 block) and then walk south on Boerum Place (4-5 Blocks) to Atlantic Avenue. Walk west on Atlantic Avenue (approximately 5-6 blocks) to Columbia St. or take the B63.

Via NYC Bus:

B63 in the loop road on Pier 6, south of One Brooklyn Bridge Park (for Pier 6)

East River Ferry

DIRECTIONS TO THE INTREPID SEA*AIR*SPACE MUSEUM

Pier 86 in Manhattan at West 46th Street, New York

Via NYC bus:

Take cross-town buses west. M34 (34th Sts), M42 (42nd St.) or M-50

(49th St.) to 12th Ave. and Hudson River. Intrepid is a short walk

North from the M34 and M42. The M50 drops off immediately in front of the Intrepid.

Via NYC Subway:

Take the A, C, E, N, Q, R, S, W, 1, 2, 3, 7, or 9 train to 42nd St., then walk or take the M-42 West Bus to Hudson River (12th Ave). Walk north to Intrepid

Via New Jersey Transit:

From Penn Station, New York, take the A, C, E, 1, 2, 3 & 9 to 42nd Street, then walk or take the M-42 West Bus to Hudson River (12th Ave.). Walk north to the Intrepid.

Metro-North Railroad's service to Grand Central Terminal in Midtown puts you in the center of it all. From Grand Central Terminal take the westbound M42 (Pier) (located outside the Vanderbilt Hall entrance of Grand Central Terminal, on 42nd Street between Park and Vanderbilt Avenues,) to Twelfth Avenue (the last stop) and walk north to 46th Street.

Directions via Water:

NY Waterway operates a ferry from Hoboken, NJ (14th Street) and Weehawken, NJ at Port Imperial Ferry Terminal and at Lincoln Harbor located at the Sheraton Suites on Harbor Blvd. in Weehawken, NJ. In just 8 minutes, the ferry takes you across the Hudson River to 39th and 12th Avenue, walking distance from the Intrepid. Parking is available at the lot adjacent to Port Imperial Ferry Terminal and in a nearby parking garage for the Hoboken ferry. NY Waterway Ferry departs every 15-20 minutes during peak hours.

The New York Water Taxi offers convenient and exciting transportation running from Brooklyn, and 2 Downtown locations down to Pier 84, which is right next door to the Intrepid. Jump on the Hop-On/Hop-Off boat at any of our pier locations (addresses below) and arrive at the Intrepid. The Hop-On/Hop-Off runs on a continuous loop that is 90 minutes in total if you choose to visit all 4 locations. You may get on and off as many times as you would like and the Hop-On/Hop-Off runs on continuous schedule, with Pier 84 being the last stop.
